Rowing Center Campaign

A Message from the Campaign Co-Chairs

There are few opportunities in life when we are asked to be part of a transformational moment in the history of our school, but today we find ourselves at this important juncture. After 28 years, the McCallie Crew program is on the cusp of moving to a new, state-of-the-art rowing facility located on the GPS campus along the Tennessee River.

This new facility will house both the McCallie and GPS Crew Programs. We invite you to watch the video that shares the amazing story of how the sport of rowing has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of McCallie and GPS students.

The Rowing Center Campaign launched one year ago, and to date $5.4 million of the $6.4 million needed for the project has been secured thanks to the generosity of several individuals who have experienced firsthand the intrinsic, life-changing qualities of this sport.

The goal is to have the campaign completed this spring with construction beginning this summer. The new facility will open early fall of 2020, which will coincide with the 30th anniversary of the McCallie Crew Program. An opening celebration will occur at the 2020 Head of Hooch weekend, so now is the time for alumni to begin getting in shape to compete!

Now is the time for us all to pull together and cross the finish line! With your generous support, we have a unique opportunity to write the next chapter of the crew program and continue to transform the lives of current and future rowers for years to come. Please contact Bess Steverson by email of by phone (423-493-5837) for further information.
