Chattanooga Entertainment

While you're meeting with McCallie, we hope you’ll have time to visit some of Chattanooga’s unique attractions (Chattanooga Area Convention & Visitors Bureau) and sample the local fare.

Chattanooga truly has it all -- and is eager to share it with your family. Whether you’re looking for the best tourist attractions in the nation, or you prefer the quiet retreat of nature, or you like the night life, you will find it here. Voted a top family getaway by Southern Living's 2003 Reader's Choice Awards, Chattanooga is a great destination for a short visit or a long weekend. Check out some of our favorites.
  • Tennessee Aquarium/Downtown. The hub of Chattanooga's dramatic revitalization, this is the world's largest freshwater aquarium and well worth a visit. It boasts a 4-story underwater walkway called "River Journey," includes an IMAX theater, and is surrounded by other downtown attractions like the Creative Discovery Museum for kids and the East Chattanooga depot where you can board a train for the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum.
  • That famous Choo-Choo. It's probably America's most beloved historic train, and in the 1970s the Chattanooga Choo Choo reopened as a unique vacation complex, complete with trolley rides, "sleeper car" hotel rooms, dining, and shopping.
  • Lookout Mountain. See Rock City, witness the spectacular Ruby Falls underground waterfall, and ride the Incline Railway. Lookout Mountain is home to all of these famous attractions, and it has become one of America's natural and pop-culture treasures. With nature trails to boot, it's more than a great view -- it's a geology lesson, a nature preserve, a historic adventure, and a tourist's delight.
  • The Great Outdoors. Every kind of outdoor recreation is available in the Chattanooga area. You can fish, play golf, go camping, hike the mountains, try hang gliding, paddle a canoe, or discover caving or rock climbing.
