Summer Reading

Upper School Summer Reading 2017

We're excited about the options for summer reading this year. We hope everyone will find the school-wide book deeply thought provoking. New students should enjoy an unusual narrator in their second required read while returning students have an amazing array of books and experiences from which to choose.

REQUIRED BOOK: The Other Wes Moore by Wes Moore
Two young men with the same name grow up just miles apart, but end up with lives that could not be more different. What shaped their experiences? What can we learn from their stories? This book will be discussed in adviser groups one day in August 2017.

In addition:
  • All Students NEW to the Upper School (incl. all incoming 9th): You will read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon. See the link below.
  • All returning Upper School students (10th-12th):  You will choose a book group from the options provided in the brochure (PDF) linked from this page.
We will discuss these additional books on a second day in August, 2017.
