- Summer Camp
Every day during the summer, campers at McCallie Sports Camp rush into the dining hall to refuel after their intense activities. Each two-week session offers more than 25 different activities, and these enthusiastic campers look forward to their meals in the dining hall, which help restore their energy levels.
The dining hall’s mission is to create excitement among campers while serving fresh meals: "Everything is fresh and made from scratch," said Kurt Peper, the catering manager. "It's all about the food journey for the kids.”

The most popular meal options in the dining hall are pizza and pasta. Each day, approximately 25 to 30 pizzas are prepared, with an average of 20 pizzas consumed. The types of pizzas offered include cheese, pepperoni, bacon, and veggie, with cheese pizza being the campers' favorite. Every other day, 40 to 60 pounds of pasta are prepared, along with 8 to 10 gallons of marinara sauce.

Due to the extreme summer heat in Chattanooga, ice cream has become a prized sweet treat among campers. Each day, a total of 10 gallons of ice cream, featuring both vanilla and chocolate flavors, are served.
For the Fourth of July, all sports campers will be driving down to the Atlanta Braves baseball game, where they will likely indulge in many hot dogs and cheese nachos.
