- Summer Camp
This summer, McCallie will be adding a new camp to the list of summer opportunities.
McCallie Summer Academy, an academic boarding camp for rising 8th and 9th grade boys, will give students the opportunity to sharpen their fundamentals in math, reading and writing while getting to experience dorm life at McCallie first-hand. MSA, led by Chris Carpenter '96, Dean of Student Academics, will take place over a two-week period, starting July 5th and running through July 16th.
Boys will divide their days between learning study skills and practicing academic fundamentals, combined with exciting outdoor adventures and team activities, making full use of McCallie’s facilities as well as the resources in the Chattanooga area.
Each camper will take a skills-assessment inventory at the beginning of the camp session to pinpoint his individual areas of improvement. They will work one-on-one and in small groups with teachers and mentors to place them on the fast track to academic confidence. This well-balanced academic and adventure camp will provide each boy with a solid academic foundation, confidence, and love of learning that will serve him throughout his next school year.
