McCallie MANIA: Ready, Set, Bid!

McCallie MANIA: Ready, Set, Bid!

Ever wanted to play a round of golf at historic Oakmont, the site of this summer’s U.S. Open? How about five nights in a vacation home in Winter Park, Colorado, that has six bedrooms and sleeps up to 16? Or visit the BMW Performance Center in Greenville, South Carolina, where you can take a spin in some of the German automaker’s amazing cars and SUVs?

Thanks to this year’s eighth annual McCallie MANIA silent auction, you’re a winning bid away from making those bucket-list moments come true. MANIA begins this Friday (May 2) and runs through May 11. View the more than 100 total auction items at mccallie.org/MANIA.

And this year, in addition to the silent auction, there’s a Cinco de Mayo gala set for Monday night, May 5, at Council Fire, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $75 a person and precedes the annual Duck Day Golf Tournament that tees off Tuesday, May 6, at Council Fire.

Between now and then, you can begin to bid on the aforementioned items or make a play for the more than 100 other items you can find online. The auction has raised over $1.5 million previously to support financial aid and faculty development, and this year, it will do the same.

Director of Development Drew Read said of this year’s McCallie MANIA, “It is hard to believe this is our 8th year of McCallie MANIA.  We are so grateful to the numerous volunteers, alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends who have invested in our young men through this fun event. Don't be timid; bid, bid, bid!”

MANIA director Mercedes Bartow says plenty of restaurant and spa gift cards exist. Also, private tennis, golf, and squash lessons with McCallie coaches are available. An authentic McCallie football helmet signed by last year’s Division II Class AAA state title team, the one that came from 21-0 down to beat Baylor 27-21 in the state title game. Choice seats for graduation. And a chance to ride in Peyton Manning’s golf cart at Sweetens Cove Golf Course just up the road in South Pittsburg.

“Most fun for me,” said Bartow, “is the excitement people get shopping for a good cause.”

So get your fingers ready and start checking out mccallie.org/MANIA this Friday, May 2, through May 11 to help a Big Blue good cause and treat yourself to some fun..
