McCallie Mania for the Arts
Virtual Showcase begins February 25, Auction starts March 1
McCallie Mania, the popular online auction for McCallie alumni and friends, has an arts theme this year and an impressive showcase of great artwork by some of the best artists – many of whom have McCallie ties.
In its fifth year, the online auction will take place March 1 through 7, 2021.
But before the online auction begins, you will have an opportunity to join us for a free virtual Art Showcase. This free event will be held Thursday, February 25 at 7 p.m.
Stevie Ray Dallimore, McCallie’s Director of Drama Programs, and Mercedes Bartow, mother of Davis ’26, and Chair of this year’s Mania Auction, will host the Showcase which will include the premiere release of the Arts at McCallie videos created by Brandan Roberts, Director of Video. In addition, Head of School Lee Burns ’87 will discuss McCallie’s arts programs and share details about the upcoming issue of McCallie Magazine which focuses on the arts.
The February 25 Showcase also will feature a select collection of items from the McCallie Mania auction that will be available for purchase prior to the auction. All proceeds from this Showcase will go directly to McCallie’s arts programs.
And the Showcase is just the beginning. The annual McCallie Mania will be held online from March 1 through March 7. It will feature visual artwork and performance art experiences by students, alumni and local artists while still offering McCallie Mania favorites such as one-of-a-kind experiences, getaways, sporting opportunities, lifestyle items, and so much more.
Among the McCallie Mania items you can bid on:
- One-of-a-kind artwork from artists (alumni, faculty, former faculty, and local artists)
- Grammy Foundation guitar signed by nine female artists, including Beyonce and Carrie Underwood
- Arch Audio recording session
- Scottsdale, Arizona golf trip
- Broadway virtual experience
- Kayoko Dan/Michael McCallie private concert
- Culinary experiences
- Acting for the camera experience
- Custom-made shuffleboard set
- All the McCallie favorites – graduation seating, TEPS days, camps
- Auction favorites – restaurants, entertainment, sports experiences and so much more.
Forty percent of the funds raised through this year’s auction will go straight to the Arts to purchase directly those items needed to expand and enhance an already strong Arts program. The remaining proceeds will benefit the boys of McCallie through financial aid, faculty development, community service initiatives, and other programs that help our boys grow into exceptional young men.
McCallie offers 21 art, music and theatre courses, with 40% of our 938 students participating in one or more of the academic and/or extracurricular arts programs.
Your support of McCallie Mania for the Arts will be an investment to transform the lives of our talented young men at this school. Thank you for considering this request.
