The country's most prestigious music venue will host the McCallie | GPS Honors Orchestra on March 23.

Members of the Honors Orchestra have been invited to display their considerable talents at Carnegie Hall in New York City on that date. A total of 38 McCallie and GPS students will perform that Monday at 2 p.m.

"This invitation represents countless hours of dedication, discipline, and teamwork," said Nichole Pitts, who oversees McCallie Orchestras. "Our orchestra students balance demanding academic schedules and busy school lives while committing themselves to the daily work of refining their craft. Behind every performance are early mornings, careful practice, listening, collaboration, late evening rehearsals, and the perseverance required to grow as musicians.

"Performing at Carnegie Hall is not only a remarkable honor but also a recognition of the high level of artistry and commitment these students bring to our community. Just as we celebrate the achievements of our athletes on the field and court, we are proud to celebrate the excellence of these hardworking musicians on the concert stage."
