The first sentence of semi-retired McCallie head swim coach Stan Corcoran’s email said it all: “This is the best year we’ve ever had.”
Considering it was the Blue Tornado’s third straight state title before Corcoran stepped aside from day-to-day workouts in favor of new head coach Zane Hamilton, how could it not be?
Especially when the team had 11 individual swims and three relay swims earn All-American status. Only the top 100 swims in the whole country are deemed All-American, and McCallie had more top 10 finishes than ever before.
McCallie also learned that the swimming and diving program ranked No. 7 overall in the final National Dual Meet Rankings among all boys programs.
