Marc Best '02

NC Triangle Alumni Chapter Chair

Marc attended McCallie as a boarding student from Goldsboro, NC and is a member of the class of 2002. While at McCallie, he was a member of the crew team, MTA, and the orchestra. As an alum, he has served as a phonathon volunteer and served on his 10-, 15-, and 20-year reunion committees.

Marc received his B.A. in Psychology from Samford University and MBA from East Carolina University.

Marc lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife and three children and professionally manages and develops commercial real estate with a particular focus on warehouses and building material distribution. A failed recreational fisherman, Marc most enjoys his time cruising in a center console around the sound of NC’s Crystal Coast. When not on the water, he swings a kettlebell, labors over a manicured lawn, and serves as a deacon in his church.

Marc says he, perhaps, had the most hours ever logged in the McCallie Learning Center. When not in Backwork, he spent 4 years with the crew team. Marc’s admiration and appreciation for the devotion that the faculty and staff put into nurturing and building each McCallie boy into a successful McCallie man cannot be overstated. He believes that the values McCallie champions are invaluable to life at home, in the workplace, and elsewhere.
