History

In History, we seek to equip boys with the knowledge and cognitive capabilities to draw on the past as a source of wisdom and understanding for the present.

We hope to guide students into becoming informed, responsible citizens of the nation and the world. To this end, we maintain:

  • a vibrant intellectual atmosphere
  • preserve an academically challenging curriculum
  • employ the best practices of both teaching and learning.

Students begin developing foundational knowledge and awareness through the survey courses of World History and US History. A constantly-evolving catalog of semester-long electives allows boys to study of focused topics in depth. All courses include a strong emphasis on writing skills and the critical use of primary sources.
