COVID-19 Coronavirus Updates
McCallie School continues to monitor the evolving situation with regard to COVID-19. This page serves as a central center for information and resources for students, parents, alumni and friends.
Thursday, April 9 -- Headmaster Lee Burns today announced that parents of McCallie's Chinese students have sent several thousand face masks and N95 masks to McCallie as a gift of support for McCallie and the Chattanooga community. On Friday, April 10, face masks will be distributed to faculty and staff on campus, and later in the day Mr. Burns, along with some Chinese students who have remained on campus, will deliver masks to Parkridge Health System. Friday, April 3 – McCallie is on Spring Break. The students (and teachers) are getting a well-deserved, albeit homebound, break from the challenges of the past month and are set to return to online class activities on April 14. Throughout the break, we’ll continue to provide updates on this page and elsewhere on McCallie’s website
Thursday, April 2, 9:45 a.m. -- Wednesday night Upper School Principal Hank Hopping and Middle School Principal Scotty Jones briefed parents via a video conference on the status of the distance learning program. Tuesday, March 31, 11 a.m.– Upper School Principal Hank Hopping and Middle School Principal Scotty Jones will provide an online briefing to parents at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 1. The two principals will talk about how students and faculty are adjusting to the distance learning protocols and plans for the remainder of the year – whether via distance learning on on-campus learning.
