McCallie is an All-Boys Private Boarding School and Day School, a Christian-based College Prep School.
McCallie seeks out and accepts boys from all ethnic, racial, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds and places a high value on a diverse student body.
Though a relatively new sport to McCallie, with its inception in 2017-18, the squash program has grown quickly in quantity and quality.
With a strong nucleus of excellent players and others who are developing their skills as they gain more experience, the 2019-2020 varsity team plans to seek out strong competition by playing schools and clubs in Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky and Virginia, and they have a goal to play in the national interscholastic tournament.
In addition to the varsity team, which consists of 12 players, McCallie fields a middle school team as well.
The squash teams play both on campus and at the Scenic City Squash Club, which is about 10 minutes from campus and founded by Taylor and Mike Monen '92 for Chattanooga’s growing and enthusiastic squash community.
Coaching for the team consists of the professional squash staff at the Scenic City Squash Club and McCallie faculty members Bryon McCague (varsity) and Neal Dexter (middle school).
