McCallie is an All-Boys Private Boarding School and Day School, a Christian-based College Prep School.
McCallie seeks out and accepts boys from all ethnic, racial, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds and places a high value on a diverse student body.
McCallie School’s Middle School baseball program consists of two teams and allows participation by sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. Each of the teams are staffed by at least three coaches. The skills taught at the middle school level are the same skills being taught at the high school varsity level. A main goal of the middle school program is to groom players to participate successfully at the high school level.
The middle school program is led by Christian Burnett '14, a former Blue Tornado and collegiate player. Coach Burnett receives assistance from several other experienced and respected coaches.
The middle school teams are formed according to the skill level of the players. The teams compete locally and with other schools in the area. Each team will provide players opportunities for skill development in competitive situations.
The overall baseball program is under the direction of Head Coach Tim Costo. Coach Costo is a former Major League Baseball player who has been a member of the varsity staff for several years and the Varsity Head Coach for four years.
