McCallie School’s Middle School baseball program consists of two teams and allows participation by sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. Each of the teams are staffed by experienced coaches. The skills taught at the middle school level are the same skills being taught at the high school varsity level. A main goal of the middle school program is to groom players to participate successfully at the high school level.
The middle school program is led by Dr. David Eastman, McCallie's Sherrill Chair of Bible. Coach Eastman receives assistance from Drew Burns, Gordon Geralds, Steve Robison, Cory Simpson and Jon Stephenson.
The middle school teams are formed according to the skill level of the players. The teams have a robust schedule and compete locally and with other schools in the area. Each team will provide players opportunities for skill development in competitive situations.
The overall baseball program is under the direction of Head Coach Tim Costo. Coach Costo is a former Major League Baseball player who has been a member of the varsity staff for several years and the Varsity Head Coach for four years.
