Blue Tornado Mountain Biking

With the sport's popularity and access to the Chattanooga area’s many trails and off-road courses, mountain biking is now an official McCallie varsity sport. 

Under the direction of Head Coach Jesse Teague, the squad competed in five events in the inaugural season in 2023, including the Tennessee Interscholastic Cycling League State Championships. At the state races, Ben Anz placed 16th in the sophomore category, and senior Bobby Welsh finished 12th in the Category 1 Elite division.

What was once an afternoon activity has grown into a competitive sport available for all levels of riders.
