Hal Malone III '92

New York Alumni Chapter Chair

Hal attended McCallie as a boarding student from Johnson City, Tennessee. He is the founder of White Fir Global, Inc., a strategic advisory firm focused on the transportation, offshore, and energy industries. Hal also serves as the chief financial officer of Ocean Aquaculture Global, S.L., which is developing offshore aquaculture farms in southern Spain. While at McCallie, Hal was a member of the crew team. He earned a BS in economics, summa cum laude, from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to founding White Fir, Hal served as the head of transportation at Invesco Private Markets (WL Ross & Co.), a private investing division of Invesco Ltd., overseeing a more than $2 billion maritime investment portfolio. Before joining Invesco, Hal served as the chief strategic officer of the Navig8 Group, a fully integrated provider of shipping management services. Before Navig8, Hal spent over 18 years in investment banking, most recently as a managing director in the maritime group at Jefferies LLC.

Hal resides in New York City with his wife Adriana, who is a physician at Mt. Sinai Hospital, specializing in bone marrow transplantation and his son Gregory, who is a senior at the Grace Church School. Hal’s older daughter, Alexa, is an artist with the Boston Ballet and attends Northeastern University.
