Matthew Hitchcock '00

Chattanooga Alumni Chapter Chair

Matthew attended McCallie as a day student and is a member of the class of 2000. While at McCallie, he played lacrosse, was a cheerleader, and was a member of the McCallie Lettermen’s Society and Japanese Club. Matthew was a recipient of the Japanese Language Award. As an alum, he has been a phonathon caller and admissions volunteer, and has served on the Chattanooga Alumni Council since 2019.

Matthew attended Clemson University and continued to the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis where he received his MD. He specializes in family medicine and opened Chattanooga’s first direct primary care practice, operating on a monthly membership fee without insurance.

Matthew is married to Kathleen and they have four children, Caleb (attends McCallie), Patrick, Anna Grace, and Jackson.
