April 13, 2004 - McCallie Crew retains the Raoul Cup! Congratulations to the Varsity 8+ and the JV 8+ on winning their races, and to the Lightweight 8+ for a great effort. Novices also rowed well in two exhibition races. The schedule below has been updated with hotel information for Oak Ridge and Cincinnati. February 17, 2004 - McCallie Crew begins spring training this afternoon. Below is the schedule for the Spring 2004 racing season. We would like to thank all the parents who supported the team this fall. Steve and Cherie Johnson, Reidy Bradford, Bill Matthews, our grill master extraordinaire Bob Franklin, and all the others who helped with the tent at the races make our experience that much better. Great thanks also to the people who opened their home to our visitors from South Africa, and to those who made financial gifts to support the Crew. We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming party and at the spring races. November 18, 2003 - Winter training is underway! Congratulations to all on excellent fall season performances. October 8, 2003 - With the Chattanooga Head Race coming up, the Crew is busy preparing for the following events: Wednesday: St. Benedict's College team arrives in the evening. Team dinner in the dining hall at 5:45 with St. Benedict's September 22, 2003 - The first erg tests of the fall are out of the way and good improvements are being made at the Varsity and Novice level. We are looking for day family hosts for the weekend of Fall Break for both boarding students and for the South African team who will be visiting and training with us that week. May 9, 2003 - Despite the rising water, this weekend's races at Oak Ridge are ON! The Novice 8A, Varsity 2x, and Varsity 4x will be staying on Friday at the Comfort Inn in Oak Ridge (865-481-8200) on 433 South Rutgers Road. April 21, 2003 - Good racing was had on Friday, April 18. McCallie, GPS and Baylor boats raced downriver in the late afternoon with a great crowd on the GPS campus and the Walnut Street Bridge. This week finds us preparing for the Oak Ridge Scholastic Regatta, which will be held on Saturday, April 26. You can find the tentative race schedule here. The final schedule will be posted on Wednesday, April 23. March 13, 2003 - We've been occupied with on-the-water training and getting ready for upcoming dual races with St. Andrews. We will race on the GPS side of the island in the morning. On Saturday, Feb. 1st McCallie was well represented at the Tennessee Indoor Rowing Championships. Results and photos are posted. Recent days saw Robin Gerlach back on campus. He is back in Germany coaching novices and doing a bit of rowing himself. Robin, send us pictures!
