McCALLIE: 1999 RAOUL CUP CHAMPS!
McCALLIE'S VARSITY HEAVYWEIGHTS DEFEATED BAYLOR IN RAOUL CUP VIII. According to accounts from the winning crew McCallie took the lead in the first ten strokes, and openned it up to a nearly a boat length at the half-way mark. McCallie fought off Baylor's big move at about 400 meters from the finish which cut the lead to three or four seats. In a final 200 meter surge to the finish McCallie openned the lead to 18 meters at he finish. The victory was especially sweet because last McCallie lost this race by less than a meter while beating the same crew in three other races during the 1998 spring season.
